Eclipses are a disruption of the regular lunation cycles. Rather than the usual monthly New or Full Moon’s an eclipse sees the light of the Sun or Moon temporarily blocked. A New Moon eclipse, called a Solar eclipse, see’s the Sun’s light blocked by the Moon. A Full Moon eclipse, know as a Lunar eclipse, is where the Moon’s light is blocked by the Earth.
As Venus descends into the darkness, you too may find yourself in a place of withdrawal and contemplation. Out of all the planetary retrogrades, Venus is often the most internal and problematic, especially in the domain of relationships and authentic wants. While retrograde, Venus can bring a deep awareness about how much you are trading off your own happiness for the sake of someone else’s.
As the sky writes the final lines of your Leo chapter for the time being, you might consider the ways in which you’ve been seen, or not. The need to be loved and seen for who you truly are, for what’s inside your heart. To be recognised for the gifts and contributions you had to offer and whether they were valued.

Full Moons are about culmination and reaching a decision or turning point. As this eclipse is aligned with the karmic South Node of the Moon, it’s themes are strongly tied to that of release and letting go. Aquarius is about your place in the collective, the group or the family. Where have you given up your sense of bold individuality (Leo) in order to appease someone else?
This eclipse will provide a kind of real life trailer from a movie that isn’t being released until August- when the potent and dramatic total Solar Eclipse in Leo occurs. Keep note of what happens this month, both personally and globally. August is likely to be the month that brings the potential of February to fruition.
Full Moons represent a turning point in the monthly Moon cycle. At the very moment she reaches her culmination, she begins to lose light and strength until she has no light left of her own. By the Balsamic or Dark Moon phase, which will occur again in a couple of weeks, the Moon becomes like a smart phone on 5% battery, desperately needing to be recharged.
