Jupiter in Pisces – The Growth Within

One of the more hopeful and inspirational astrological weather patterns of 2021 arrives May 13 / 14, thanks to Jupiter’s entrance into Pisces.

For the first time since December 2018, Jupiter emerges from the containment of Saturn’s rings in Capricorn and Aquarius and can be truly himself – the provider of possibility.

Combined with their slower moving cycles plus being the last planets that can be seen with the naked eye, both Jupiter and Saturn were classed as outer planets before the discovery of Uranus, Neptune and Pluto.

Thus, when Jupiter (as well as Saturn) change signs, it signals significant shifts and a fresh batch of new possibility and potential in the collective, and within the whole sign house in your birth chart.

It takes Jupiter approximately 12 years to cycle the zodiac. The last time Jupiter was in Pisces was January – June 2010 and September 2010 – January 2011. Thus, mid – 2021 and the first half of 2022 may see large-scale growth not seen in over a decade.

Jupiter is the largest planet in our Solar System. Its qualities of heat and moisture drives its impulse toward growth and expansion, generosity and optimism as well as a temperance. Wherever Jupiter resides or transits in your birth chart, it has the tendency to elevate and amplify. When you track the transits of Jupiter through the houses of your chart, you’ll notice periods of those topics growing, expanding or being raised lifted up in some way.

Jupiter’s symbolism can be literal or symbolic. On occasion, you may literally explore new horizons, while on others it may be your perspective that shifts and expands, offering a higher level of wisdom.

Spiritually, Jupiter drives us to grow closer to, or reflect the image of whatever or whomever we consider to be God-like. Jupiter is linked to the concept of law. Unlike gavel wielding Saturn, Jupiter speaks to that which is just, moral and ethical.

Jupiter’s first of a three-part installment in Pisces is short. May 13 / 14 – July 28 will give us a preview of what we can expect in 2022 when Jupiter returns to Pisces from December 30, 2021 – May 11 2022 and the closing chapter through October 28 – December 20, 2022.

In Pisces, the qualities of Jupiter become less ‘out there’ and calls for our attention and focus to drawn within. Being a water sign, Pisces is receptive, emotional and internal. Water signs, and Pisces in particular, prefer to go within in order to figure out their feelings.
Jupiter in Pisces suggest that some of the biggest growth opportunities can be found within your internal landscape.

The element of Water, unlike air or fire, is bound to the laws of gravity. Water cannot move upwards, which is why rain or a bead of sweat can only fall.  While in Pisces, Jupiter’s natural mojo toward growth and expansion can be found within the waters within. True connection, compassion and integration with our external world starts from our internal being.

As we embark on a tour of hope, magic and compassion, consider where Pisces is in your birth chart and the growth, you’d like to see in those life topics. What can you do now to begin shifting, healing and expanding internally to reflect what you’d like externally?
