Week Beginning 7 December
It’s the darkest of dark Moons this week as she enters the balsamic phase in the sign of Scorpio, before Friday’s New Moon.
This is a wind down phase where you may find your attention is drawn inwards and you’re less inclined to be overly social or energetic. With the added flavour of Scorpio’s depth and darkness, emotions may be stirred and feelings of release and letting go hard to ignore. This Moon may bring into light feelings you have buried or chosen to deny.
One of the weeks’ more vibrant aspects is the trine between the Sun and Uranus across the dynamic fire element, on Tuesday and Wednesday. A surprise breakthrough, a chance encounter or at the very least, a boost of energy can be expected. This will be a welcome shift in energy if you feel like you’re drowning in inertia or cannot shake off an edgy feeling.
This aspect occurs at 16 degrees of Sagittarius and Aries.
Mercury in Sagittarius is a busy and somewhat scattered placement, attempting to synthesise details with the big picture. Late Wednesday Mercury enters Capricorn where he has little strength, but will help slow down the pace and assist you in being better organised. If you’ve been setting a frantic [pace, make a list, prioritise and align your time alongside what is important or urgent. Mercury in Capricorn will help you streamline your diary, winding up the year and attending to holiday related errands.
By the working weeks’ end we’ll arrive at the astrological hotspot of Mars facing off with erratic Uranus at 16 degrees of Libra and Aries. Thursday and Friday will have a pressure cooker feel. Both planets pertain to change and under this see-saw of planetary energy, you may find you’re done with the status quo. This tension may manifest in volatile outbursts, sudden changes or erratic behaviour in general. Where possible, go with the flow to help minimise friction.
Co-operating with traditions relative to this time of year may be a sore point. Uranus is about authenticity and dancing to the beat of your own drum. Family expectations, holiday rituals and the general norm of the season may feel unbearable. Mars/Uranus is about shaking things up, blazing a new path for yourself as opposed to walking someone else’s. A new sense of personal freedom will emerge from restlessness and irritability.
Just as the dust of Mars/Uranus begins to settle, the last New Moon of the year happens on Friday evening, in freedom focused Sagittarius.
This New Moon will beckon excitement in the realms of adventure, travel and learning. Jupiter, the ruler of this New Moon in Virgo will temper the larger than life visions of Sagittarius- even just by a tiny bit!
