28 March Venus and the Moon
It’s been a busy week in the sky- last weekend’s Autumn
Equinox (here in the Southern Hemisphere) coupled with the Aries New Moon which
triggered the start of the new astrological year. The energy has definitely shifted yet due to Venus’ current retrograde
in Aries- the vibe is more introspective and personal rather than the typical ‘out
there’ and ‘gung ho’ Aries style. Wherever Venus is in your individual
horoscope now will suggest where your review around love, money and personal
values are occurring. For me, it’s been in my 10th house of career-
so I’ve been a little quite on the work front including writing Cosmic
Catalogue. Where has your life been feeling stalled?- an astrology reading can
reveal all!
Venus’ current retrograde passage forms a powerful alliance in
the sky today with the Sun. Surround yourself with beauty now- be it music,
fragrance, art or nature.
In the next few hours, Moon moves into delectable Taurus,
heightening the current Venus energy. Time spent in a little self nurture will
rekindle your spirit and reconnect you with what makes you feel alive. Taurus
is part of the Earth sign trilogy- a perfect timing to celebrate Earth Hour! 11 March A Tale Of Saturn and Uranus... Friends
and associates have contacted me lately discussing a problem with this
or an issue with that and want to know what is going on with the stars
and most importantly, their chart! Then
the all-knowing astrologer (yep, that's me) lets out a big sigh
wondering exactly where to begin. Yes the stars are complicated now. It
was my intention to write a post in lead up to the Full Moon (which
occurred a couple hours ago) but it just didn't happen in the Full Moon
madness. Now that the Moon has reached her fullest point for the month,
the pressure is off, the tension has released and things can slowly
wind down enough so we can all catch our breath. Venus
went retrograde last week in a sign she doesn't particularly like-
Aries. Relationships and money are sure to come under the spotlight now
and will highlight the we (Venus) vs. me (Aries) element to our most
important dealings with loved ones. Finances as well as your personal
relating style are up for a big overhaul now- Venus in Aries until June
6 her retrograde phase lasts until April 16! Today's
Full Moon in Virgo illuminates the ongoing Saturn/Uranus opposition
that has been in effect since October last year. Pisces governs
escapism and Virgo attention to details. These extremes are emphasised
now as the Moon meets Saturn in Virgo and the Sun meets Uranus in
Pisces in the sky. In order to embrace one of these energies, the other
has to be somewhat let go of. Do you have that glass of wine tonight or
should you take the dog for a walk? Like
always the area of your chart holds the key to where this planetary
energies plays out. Often, astrology plays out in a very literal sense
and here is an example... the current Saturn/Uranus opposition about
the breaking down of old structures and often with Uranus, in a
shocking or sudden way. This opposition lies along my home and career
axis, or 4th and 10th house cusps. On the early hours of Sunday
morning, two young men misjudged a turn in the road mounted the gutter,
crashed my fence, destroyed the water meter, trampled my garden
narrowly missing a head on collision with a palm tree. The old fence
was Saturn and Uranus was the car crash- literally a breaking down of
an old structure. This tale also demonstrates a timely reminder about
drink driving, no doubt the wrath of Saturn (the law) will come down on
the young man's Piscean activities! (Perhaps I should have got his
birth data!) 7 March Times are changin' This
week was a bit of an astrological mixed bag due to Mercury making a
pass over aggressive Mars then passive Neptune. Those with a strong
Gemini or Mercury flavour to their chart would have certainly felt the
shift between physical energy to mental vagueness. The
Moon is now in her ruling sign of Cancer, where she remains until just
after the stroke of midnight tonight. The urge to nurture and protect
those you love becomes a focus while the emotional Moon is in this
sensitive zone. For those domestic gods and goddesses out there, the
home becomes your primary source of safety and comfort. Whipping up a
storm in the kitchen, cleaning up or tending the garden provides much
enjoyment now. By
sunrise the Moon would have already spent several hours in the more
'me' driven Leo. Honour this energy by allowing others to do things for
you, allowing the carer (Cancer) to be taken care of. One
of the major planetary themes for 2009 is the face off between Saturn
and Uranus. Although many examples of old structures breaking down (the
first US black president) and sudden erratic changes (devastating
weather patterns in Australia) are happening all over the world,
somewhere in the midst of each of our lives lies the potential for
breaking with tradition and following a more unique and authentic
trail. Over the upcoming days, the Sun connects to Uranus highlighting
radical and innovative opportunities to step away from what has past
its expiry date in your life. Those with strong Pisces/Virgo or have a
birthday from the 8-10th March or 10-12 September in particular- the
times are a changin' for you BIG time! Those who have 17-19 degrees of
the mutable signs of Gemini and Sagittarius are also finding the
current pace challenging. By embracing your natural 'go with the flow'
attitude will be your best bet in riding the tide of change. What does the Saturn/Uranus opposition have in store for you? Cassandra is available of astrology readings.

Sun in Pisces
The
Sun drifted into Pisces earlier today, shifting the focus from activity
of the mind (Aquarius) to movement of the soul. Over the next month the
emotional, spiritual and sensitive side to life becomes a major thrust,
acting like an overture to the days. Pisces is also about imagination
and inspiration- the perfect time to indulge in Pisces/Neptune realms
such as music and film. Soul opening pursuits such as yoga and
meditation are highly favoured now. Overall, the energy becomes a
little softer, intuition is heightened and dreams and fantasies become
more vivid.
The
Moon spends the next 48 hours in the less emotionally focused sign of
Capricorn, lending earthly practicality to an otherwise vague and
directionless solar energy. Capricorn is about boundaries and Pisces
doesn't know the meaning of the word. Where will your boundaries lie
now? Much can be achieved if you are prepared to put in a little extra
effort with a dash of compassion.
Mercury
moves out of his shadow this weekend after his recent retrograde stint.
The shadow is the area of the Zodiac where a planet stations and turns
retrograde (moves backwards) and then turns back into direct motion,
returning to that original Zodiacal position. Some astrologers hold
great reverence to the Mercury shadow. Any issues involving
communication, catching up on emails, unreturned phone calls and other
Mercury type issues that have been delayed since around January 8 can
now be ironed out.
What does your personal horoscope
say about you?

Hope and Courage
The
Sun and Neptune made their annual meet in the
sky which perfected yesterday, setting the tone for what was to prove
to be a
highly emotive week. Neptune symbolises sacrifice which has been a key
theme
here in Australia as a result in the devastating bushfires in Victoria.
The
loss of life, wildlife and property has been unprecedented in peacetime
and
many have dug deep to help those in need financially and through
volunteer
work- another example of the selflessness and compassion of Neptune.
For
those who have never been to Australia our land
and climate is a diverse blend of tropical rainforest to barren desert
and
everything in between. Most of our continent is inhabitable to due the
complex
weather systems forcing most of us live along the coastlines. The land
is often
described with two seemingly unrelated words- beauty and terror.
Bushfires can
be a tragic yet necessary element to the ecosystem here. Nearly every
Summer
the land undergoes its own Plutonic type journey where everything in
its path
is razed leaving a devastating trail of blackened bush. In around 12-18
months
the promise of new life via the green shoots that emerge from the earth
and
heralds the beginning of a new cycle.
Unfortunately,
this Summer Pluto's experience will
take more than a year or so to recover from. With towns literally wiped
off the
map and nearly 2000 homes lost- it will take alot longer to rebuild and
even
longer again to attempt to recover from what can never be replaced- the
lives of men, women and
children- entire families including their innocent and beloved pets as
well as
anywhere up to a million wildlife many of which are native animals.
Let's hope
the 'hot air' of Mars in Aquarius joining expansive Jupiter on the 17th
keeps
adverse weather conditions at bay.
Using
the 'swearing in' chart of Australia, we are
about to undergo a Progressed Sun sign change (happens once every 30
years)
into Taurus, where the natal Moon lies. This will provide the
opportunity to
shape shift our identity and reunite ourselves to our relationship with
the
earth and the valuable beauty and resources it holds for its
people.
With
a potent stellium of Sagittarius, Australia
has always been known as the 'lucky country.' The easy going and
egalitarian
attitude of the people who are known to 'look out for ya mates' ensures
that
the resilience, courage and compassion needed to move forward is a
given.
The gorgeous ‘Sam the Koala’ has been an uplifting
tale of hope and courage- for pictures of her recovery.

Watch Over Me
Later today
(3:05pm AEST) the Moon moves into her home sign of Cancer where she
will stay for the majority of the weekend. Food, friends, family and the home is what it's
all about for the next 48hrs.
Cravings for home comforts feel stronger now, consider getting
take-away rather than dining out, better still make it
yourself! Moods and emotions are heightened as the Moon grows
closer to her Full Moon phase just before Monday's powerful Lunar
eclipse. Cancer is a sensitive and mothering water sign and as the Moon
makes links to powerful Pluto and electric Uranus you may find yourself
protecting your patch!

Change or Be the Same
The
Moon is about half way through her monthly sojourn in Gemini where
emails, messages, Facebook conversations and phone calls have been
non-stop since ruler Mercury turned direct on Sunday evening.
Resolutions will be found to matters that have been on the back burner
since mid January. New ideas and communication will come with much more
ease and clarity now.
Action
planet Mars has slipped out of the well oiled machine that is Capricorn
and into the independent free spirited change agent of Aquarius (til
March 15). The slow and steady climb of Mars has fallen away to a new
restlessness. An area of life now needs to give way to a new
revolutionary way of being, if you can let go of the crap that holds
you back.
Romance
moves up a gear as Venus moves into fast and furious Aries, where she
stays until June 5. Relationship energy becomes more impulsive, direct
and self centered. Be prepared for more 'me first' attitudes at least
until early March where she back tracks and re-assesses her
relationship needs.
Saturn
and Uranus make another challenging link in the heavens during this
week. Controversial and radical means butt heads with tried, true and
conservative methods which is perfectly illustrated by the Australian government now.

The Promise of Courage
On
the 26th January, the first eclipse of 2009 occurred at 6 degrees
Aquarius. An eclipse occurs when the path of the Moon, Sun and the
Moon's Nodes align in the sky. Considered an omen, eclipses have been
the source of many superstitions. Think of an eclipse like home made
fireworks- they go off with bang yet you can't be entirely sure where
the explosion will happen. That is because the power of an eclipse
lasts for as long as the Sun is within 18 degrees of the karmic
Nodes.
In
the sign of Aquarius, this eclipse will herald sudden change within
social groups and friends as well as ideas and innovation. Due to the
Sun being in close conjunction to the North Node (perfects at 12:30pm
Thursday, 29 January AEST) any drastic changes or separation brought
about around this time will result in positive change. Traditionally,
Aquarius is ruled by Saturn suggesting that decisions to take on
greater levels of commitment or responsibility are also strongly
favoured now!
The
Sun connects with the North Node only once a year. Coupled with the
power of Monday's eclipse and Jupiter's lucky influence, going against
the grain and creating radical changes in your life can feel compelling
now- if you allow your soul's purpose be your navigator!

Trail
Blazing
Your
personal needs may seem rash or erratic today as Venus and Uranus
collide in the sky. A change of heart may cause sudden and unexpected
chain reactions but promise long lasting effects of change, due to Mars
making a supportive link. With both Mars and Venus happy in their
current Zodiacal home what may ruffle feathers today will be for the
best down the track.
With
the Sun and Jupiter currently undergoing their annual union, this year
in innovative and original Aquarius, the urge to break out against the
status quo and blaze a trail of your own will feel impossible to
resist. The wheels set in motion now will set the tone for the rest of
the year!

2009
For
the most part, Mercury Retrograde is just a pain in the proverbial.
While many of us returned to work this week, Mercury took the first of
his three holidays for the year, this time being in the sign of
Aquarius- with a dip back into Capricorn. An internet router went down
at home, a computer store delivered an incorrect piece of hardware and
electrical storm (Uranus, ruler of lightening and Aquarius) fritzed an
MP3 player- annoying text book scenarios.
The
benefit of Mercury Retrograde? It's the cosmic comma that allows you to
pause, then take a breath. Aquarius is about innovation, originality
and individuality. Mercury is about the mind, communication and
expression. Together they form a flurry of inventive and inspiring new
ideas. Together backwards...? Set the wheels in motion for the area of
life you wish to breathe a breath of fresh air into. Write lists and
plan, then take action when Mercury is direct and out of his 'shadow'
after February 22. With Jupiter in Aquarius for 2009, ideas that
come to you now have plenty of potential to be BIG- significant reward
can
be yours with just a little effort!
The
Moon is now in sweet Libra where she'll stay for 48hrs. Libra is a
cerebral and relationship focussed sign and is happiest when working
with a partner. Channel your ideas through your most significant other
this weekend to propel your Aquarian dreams and visions toward
something BIG for the both of you!
10 January
2009 Full Moon in Cancer 21 Degrees 2:26pm AEST
I
will be in West Hobart, Tasmania and available for
readings on January 29, 30 and Sunday February 1. To arrange an
appointment or for more info email or call 0405 125 266.
As
the majority of us are now back into the full swing of work mode, this
weekend's Full Moon in Cancer is a timely reminder of the
professional/home life balance. Mercury also meets the North Node just
before he turns retrograde on Monday, spend time in review of your
goals and New Year resolutions. You may have to come up with some new
insights over the next few weeks that help you with the juggling act of
home and work.
Mars
(in Capricorn) and Venus (in Pisces) are currently in strong signs and
enjoy a supportive link (sextile). Romance, pleasure and passion are on
the cosmic agenda. Spend this weekend at home resting and relaxing
cementing bonds with your special relationships at home.

Jupiter in Aquarius
Overnight,
Jupiter made his yearly transit into a new sign- out of dour and rigid
Capricorn and into inspired and original Aquarius. (His last visit was
in 1997).
Jupiter
is about optimism and growth and his passage into a new sign promises a
new area of life will receive his bounty. Being the largest planet in
the solar system you can expect significant expansions where Aquarius
lies in your birth chart, including planets and angles.
Aquarius
is a sign associated with innovation, humanitarian causes and freedom
of spirit. With Jupiter occupying this space a restless spirit bubbles
from within. Honesty, truth and integrity are paramount. Jupiter is
also linked to learning and philosophy- 2009 will be geared toward
finding your own spirit and living your truth.
The
archetype for Aquarius is the nutty professor, the inventor, the
scientist. 2009 will demonstrate advances in technology and science,
hopefully towards the benefit of humanitarian Aquarius-type
causes.
Aquarius
is also said to rule Astrology. Expect to see growth of astrology,
particularly in the mainstream media and publishing!

comments about Cassandra...
"Thank
you Cassandra,
your reading yesterday really made so much sense to me about where my
life is now and where it's headed. I had a reading some years back, but
yours was so clear and practical and you handled delicate situations
with care. I loved the way you had all the zodiac and planets laid out
in a circle on the floor- really helped me in taking in all the
information you gave me. I will look forward to listening to the CD"

"Cassandra,
you reading was just wonderful. I'm going through a stressful time and
your advice just took all the anxiety and worry from my situation. You
have such an articulate way with words and are so gentle and
non-threatening. I was so nervous to have a reading but you made

New Moon 6
degrees Capricorn 11:23pm AEST
As
we are now in the final days of 2008 another astrological era is
beginning. Tonight's New Moon is joined by Mars and Pluto (Pluto in
Capricorn til 2024). This planetary mix suggests themes of power,
transformation, action and intensity will permeate this New Moon.
(Great time for manifesting New Year resolutions). The area of your
birth chart holding the area of 6 degrees of Capricorn will be the area
of life- like it or not- that will undergo structural change and out
dated methods will be tossed out the window! These are the winds of

Here
in the Southern Hemisphere we are celebrating our Summer Solstice,
where the annual passage of the Sun halts on the Tropic of Capricorn
and heads toward the Northern Hemisphere. Our days now grow
progressively shorter and those in the Northern Hemisphere,
longer.
Astrologically speaking, being
'down under' some things are a little different as I was explaining to
my colleague Jeffrey
Kishner.
For example, here our first quarter Moon looks like the Northern
Hemispheres' third quarter Moon- but the meaning of all astrological
symbolism remains the same.
The
Summer Solstice occurs when the time from sunrise to sunset is at its
longest for the year. This is a time for reflection and giving thanks
for what has been for the year- not too dissimilar to what is
recognised at Christmas.
So
as the days grow shorter planting seeds of manifestation becomes
important. Give your New Year's resolutions a head start by making them
now. You may not act up them just yet but at least putting them down on
paper is a great start! With this year's Solstice chart containing the
powerful influence of a Sun/Pluto conjunction- be careful
what
you wish for, you may just get it!

Not
feeling that Christmas spirit? Feel too tired to even care? You're not
alone. Saturn has been playing havoc in the heavens during the last
week. A square to Mars has been in effect since Monday putting the
proverbial wet blanket on Christmas cheer. Combined with the Sun/Mars
conjunction (since early December) has forced us to engage our inner
Energizer bunny and just keep going and going and going... til the
battery runs out.
That
battery is now dead. The majority of these tough Saturn like aspects
are all but gone, except for today's Moon/Saturn conjunction. The Virgo
Moon isn't one for frivolity and games and coupled with the dour
practicality of Saturn the party cheer is certain to be kept to a dull
roar. Perfect day for within budget Christmas shopping- if you have a
beer budget it will be easier to avoid the champagne now. An eye for
detail is also encouraged if today is your last working day before many
Australians take the bulk of their annual leave and head to the beach-
check and double check your to-do list before signing off for 2008!

The
Moon entered the serene, tactile and possession acquiring Taurus, just
a couple of hours ago. Anything that gives you pleasure is on the
'allowed' list for the next 48hrs. As I write this, I feel the cosmos
has given me permission to have a rather large glass of shiraz as well
as some lindt chilli chocolate. It is the season to be jolly after all.
It
is the season to be spending too! The Moon in Taurus will certainly
impact the finances as pleasure can be found in retail therapy. If you
happen to be 'lucky' enough to benefit from the $10 billion handout the
Australian government has offered to stimulate the economy then the
Moon in Taurus is perfect to do just what K Rudd wants- spend, spend,
spend.
Venus
has changed signs from conservative Capricorn to kinky Aquarius. When
it comes to your relationships, your personal style and your money-
think outside the square and try something different. Explore new ways
of honouring your self expression. Allow no one to dictate the terms
now!
4 December
The
Moon drifts into soulful, spiritual and sensitive Pisces for the
majority of the weekend from Friday 5:46pm AEST. With both the Sun and
Mars in all-inspiring Sagittarius it's time to create the vision and
then act upon it. With ruler Jupiter (of both Pisces and Sagittarius)
in goal orientated Capricorn- dream the vision, form a plan of action
and make it happen!
Speaking of dreams and
visions, I was invited to attend a "gratitude evening" tonight by the Awareness
Institute where I teach astrology.
A Buddhist woman was leading a series of meditations designed to
attract positive thoughts and dispel negative energy which is
a constant presence in our daily lives, thanks to the media.
Being a
frantic time of year coupled with excessive consumerism, the focus of
the night was to show gratitude for what we already have in our lives
and celebrate the small things, the free things, the things that really
count.
Due
to work commitments, I couldn't attend the event. With the Moon being
in Aquarius the likelihood of me being able to remotely resemble
anything like meditation was next to nil. However, to honour such an
inspiring idea, over the weekend while the Moon is in a more supportive
sign for meditation- I'm going to appreciate what I already have in my
life both emotional and physical and resist the urge to think about
what I am yet to attain. I am going to avoid spending money on what
isn't absolutely necessary and I most certainly won't be reading the
news!
While
the Moon is in the most compassionate, kind, sacrificial
and idealistic of signs this weekend- show gratitude for what
you
already have, tangible and intangible.
Ethereal, romantic and compassionate Pisces-
thanks to the color

27 November
They
say that in life one door closes and another opens, one mantra I have
often let guide me through life. The heavens confirm this theory now as
Pluto- lord of the underworld left Sagittarius today (he won't return
for at least 250 years). As a final Sag-swan-song the New Moon occurs
at 5 degrees Sagittarius tomorrow morning at 3:53am AEST- giving us all
one more dose of faith, optimism and abundance.
This
New Moon holds extra significance because Jupiter, ruler of Sagittarius
is exalted by the sign of the Moon (Cancer)- offering this planetary
pair up some extra kick! Combined with the help of Mercury (mind) and
Mars (energy and drive), this New Moon holds the promise of exploring
new territory and ideas and finding solutions to long standing issues.
This fusion of heavenly bodies is sure to spark some friction in an
area of life that feels less than inspiring or is lacking in adventure
and excitement.
The
area of your chart that holds 5 degrees of Sagittarius carries the
promise of this New Moon. If you know your birth date, place and time-
a DIY chart can be done at astro.com to determine the home of
Sagittarius in your chart!
1st
house- relating to yourself with more individual integrity, aligning
the inner you with the image you portray. Associated with physical
appearance (especially the head), a new hairstyle may be on the agenda.
2nd
house- honesty in regard to your personal finances. If excess has been
a theme, ask the universe to assist you in no longer self-sabotaging
your financial happiness.
3rd
house- deals with short journeys, communication and siblings. The New
Moon here can highlight the bluntness of words and making assumptions
(especially when it comes to siblings). Short trips or weekends away
are highlighted.
4th
house- governs home and family. The New Moon suggests improving the
home, expanding the contents or structure of it as well as its
occupants.
5th
house- creative play and children. Self expression is now encouraged by
creative means. Romances begin. Fun and frivolity beckons.
Sagittarius/Jupiter has an expanding quality- the 5th rules children-
pregnancy is possible!
6th
house- general mundane aspects of life become busy now. Health matters
rule the 6th and Sagittarius has a penchant for excess- attend to your
general health and wellness if the New Moon falls here.
7th
house- Sagittarius likes independence making 'togetherness' feel
strained and non- authentic. Finding the happy medium between the 'we'
and 'me' comes under focus.
8th
house- debt, tax and death. Deal with outgoings now but do so with
integrity- avoid short cutting or putting off the inevitable.
9th house- enlighten your
higher mind, go overseas, find a guru. Higher guidance and wisdom can
be found here.
10th
house- new opportunities for promotion or job change open themselves up
to you now. Positions of authority and responsibility present- be aware
to not let it 'go to your head'.
11th
house- the natural domain of Jupiter, where it is said to find its joy.
"Pennies from heaven" rain upon you now where the rewards of hard work
manifest. Friends are in focus too!
12th
house- if life isn't being lived for your highest good, it will all
begin to unravel now. Honesty is demanded from the New Moon in

Astrology

person this Christmas. Gift

For
the last few days the Sun and Mercury have been traveling in the sky
under an aspect known as a conjunction. This fusion of the ego and
creative self expression (Sun) with thoughts, ideas and communication
(Mercury) brings about new and adventurous ideas (Sagittarius) about
oneself. Free flowing ideas of optimism and opportunity are in
abundance now, despite the world wide recession currently unraveling
before us all. As with all astrological line-ups, there is a downside
too. In traditional astrology a planet too close to the Sun isn't
considered positive, it is said to be 'combust'- like Icarus who flew
too close, he got burned. For now, keep new ideas and opportunities
under your hat until Mercury moves past the blinding Sun and give the
seeds you are now planting time to grow!
The
Moon currently sways through her last degrees in the deep and
introspective sign of Scorpio. Her light is non existent now as she
prepares for the New Moon in Sagittarius on Friday. This is a period of
quite contemplation and preparation. Careful consideration of your
options and ideas now puts you in good stead for action when Mars takes
Mercury's place next to the Sun on December 5. Prepare for your New
Moon wishes by embracing the current Sun/Mercury link- write a list,
gather information and research whatever you want for this New Moon- if
you can visualise it, you can make it happen!

The
Moon drifts into dramatic Leo at 8:09am tomorrow (Sydney time). With
ruler, the Sun also in a fixed sign, the next 48hrs are about sticking
to your guns on a certain issue, even if you don't personally have a
stubborn streak. This link creates a challenging square aspect
so
unleashing your inner high maintenance diva (Leo) may not be easy to
do. A little self centeredness is will go along way to feeling more
appreciated.
Mars
has also entered adventurous Sagittarius for his once-every-two- year
visit to seek out freedom, adventure and truth. Always the life of the
party, the silly season is set to get super busy with fiery Mars in a
fire sign. Double booking Christmas parties and get togethers will
nearly be unavoidable in OTT Sagittarius, so check and double check
your diary to avoid burning the candles at both ends. Planets and
points in your birth chart holding Sagittarius will receive this
energetic boost up until December 28.

Taurus Full
Moon 4:17pm AEST 21 Degrees
The
Moon is full in the sky right now in the sensual sign of Taurus. This
Moon is extra potent due to being 'exalted' in Taurus. The moon is at
home in Cancer, but in Taurus she is a special and welcome guest.
Taurus is one of the zodiac signs concerned with the body and the
senses. Indulge in your favourite foods and wine, get a massage or do
some gentle non-strenuous exercise. Venus is also about the
appreciation of beauty- today I bought some fashion magazines and as I
poured over the pages with a fine long black coffee I couldn't help but
then splurge on three new lipsticks!!! Well I do have Venus in Taurus
after all!
Making
this Venusian vibe extra special is that she has just dipped her toes
into fellow earth sign Capricorn for a 3 week stay. Relationships are
offered a dose of
committed energy and an ambitious streak for achieving goals together.
Generally regarded as a not-so-great combo- Venus in Capricorn does
have a solid, safe and smouldering quality to it that just gets better
with age- think Brad Pitt, Justin Timberlake, Frank Sinatra, Britney
Spears (yay to her comeback!), the sexy Scarlett Johansson and
Cindy Crawford- all have a "slow burn" to their sensuous nature and
like fine wine- just get better with age.

2008
Jupiter,
Uranus and the Moon
Being
a Cancerian, I often fall victim to colds and flu when the planets have
a dominance of water and the weekend was no exception. As the Moon
drifted into Pisces combined with the Sun in Scorpio out came the
tissues coupled with a staple diet of toast and vegemite.
Today,
the astro tide changed- Jupiter and Uranus made their third and final
super supportive sextile (these planetary big wigs also fall in mutual
reception) for 2008, the others were in March, April and May. As the
downward spiral of the global economic crisis worsens, personal beliefs
(Jupiter) will undergo radical shift of insight (Uranus) suggesting
that getting in touch with your authentic self and looking for new
opportunities for growth and expansion are on each of our personal
horizons.
The
Moon is currently in the last leg of her waxing phase in Aries- which
means she is building momentum in the cardinal 'get it done now' sign
of Aries. Before she reaches her fullest culmination for the month on
Thursday, use the gusto of Aries to act upon your personal visions and
inspirations (Jupiter) and do something out of the ordinary (Uranus) to
make it happen!
So
under the independent spirit of the hot and fiery Moon, my flu symptoms
have reduced, I have returned to write Cosmic Catalogue and got
inspired again about where I want 2008 and the years there after to
be!
For
the astro savvy, the houses where the Scorpio/Taurus- this weeks Full
Moon axis lie will give insight to which area of your life you can
build momentum. If unsure, DIY charts can be done at astro.com

Sun In
Scorpio
The
Sun is just about to slip away from lady Venus and into the deep dark
waters of the underworld- Hades domain. The next month is about finding
your authentic self through introspection and honesty- there is no
patience for BS now. With ruler Mars in Scorpio drive determination
prevail as you are now challenged to see what you are really made of.
Next week Mars makes a supportive connection (trine) to Saturn showing
that a little bit of hard work now will reap rewards later. Remember,
procrastination is the thief of time.
The
Moon is now half way through her monthly sojourn in Leo and in her
third quarter phase, known as the 'crisis of consciousness.' As a
flamboyant, luxury loving 'me' sign- will you bask in the light of
frivolity and bravado (Leo) or will you honour your true self and
honour what is within (Scorpio).
Not sure who your authentic
self is? An astrology reading can light the
way to wisdom and benefit. Bookings now being taken for November!

Moon In
Cancer
It's
official- Madonna and Guy Ritchie are divorcing! Using the ancient
technique of Firdaria, I predicted this divorce back in June. This
lecture was presented at the AANSW and is available for purchase and
download for only AUS$10!
The
Moon has just slipped from flirty and conversational Gemini and into
moody and feeling orientated Cancer- her home sign. The next 48 hours
promise a mixed bag of emotions as she makes supportive links to quick
-to- anger Mars (extra feisty in Scorpio) as well as erratic Uranus.
Despite the 'home-loving' and family orientated vibe Cancer is likened
to, the next couple of days promise an independent and
individual streak. The moods that run so deep have the
potential
to explode so finding healthier ways to keep relations cool, calm and
collected on the home front is recommended now. Feel free to do your
own thing during this time. I soothed my
mood this evening by listening to some of my favourite Cancerian
musicians- Courtney Love who has both her Sun and Moon in Cancer as
well as Chris Issak- who shares my birthday!
Venus
moved out of the dark and intense waters of Scorpio over the weekend
and into the inspirational fire of Sagittarius. Luck in relationships
is promised now and sharing a common faith and purpose together becomes
paramount. If a little disconnection occurred whilst in isolated
Scorpio- be sure to make the extra effort to be on the same page with
your special someone. Impromptu weekends away or dining out outside of
your local neighbourhood honours the energy of Venus now. Keep passions
alive with optimism and see the glass half full.
Venus in Sagittarius until
November 12.

New Moon In
Libra
As
I open this program to write this post the Moon is exactly conjunct
Mercury Rx at 20 Libra, the degree of my natal Moon. Many astrology
columns give Mercury retrograde a bad wrap, it does have its
disadvantages- communication, emails, SMS etc can go amiss and extra
time is required reading the fine print, mostly an inconvenience rather
than major dramas. The best part about Mercury Rx is tying up loose
ends, filing away paperwork and organising your personal admin. In
fact, this morning whilst eyeballing some bank statements I realised
that the NRMA (a major insurance company in OZ) where still deducting
monthly premiums from my account, a policy that was supposedly closed
over six months ago. That cash bonus will come in handy when I take my
'yes I know Mercury is retrograde and I'm flying interstate' extended
weekend away.
The
New Moon in Libra happened yesterday evening at 6:12pm, a time to focus
on relationships and the beauty in your life. The Moon/Mercury link
suggests that tact and diplomacy are required whilst the New Moon ruler
Venus is in mutual reception with Mars- a push/pull current taking the
gloss off lovely Libra. This New Moon period fails to offer all the
niceties expected with the sign of the scales, facing your personal
darker side or that of your partner is prominent now. Venus in Scorpio
demands courage so don't hesitate to exit the light.
The
Sun and Uranus are fast approaching a conjunction via antisicia (a
traditional aspect), bringing a desire within to do things your 'own'
way. Underpinning that desire is the second trine between Jupiter and
Saturn for 2008. The first occurred in January, the second earlier this
month and continues through til the end of November. If feelings of
frustration prevail, or if the wheels of life are not turning fast
enough for you- remain true to your vision (Jupiter) while you do the
hard work (Saturn). The supported energy of the trine suggests if you
hang in there the rewards will come!

The Equinox
According
to 'calendar time' it has been the season of Spring in the Southern
Hemisphere for over three weeks now. However, planetary time states
that the season changed no matter where you stand on the Earth when the
Sun reached its Equinox point of 0 degrees of Libra (21st September).
In perfect celestial timing, finally the weather in Sydney has caught
on and started to warm up! The Equinox is when the Sun travels half way
through its yearly motion (arc) and when the length of day and night
are equal. This 'equality' shows up in everyday life through balance-
the balance of home/work, family and friends, time alone vs. time
together.
This
morning Mercury went into his final retrograde phase for 2008, in the
air sign of Libra. As usual, expect delays regarding communication,
paperwork, travel and deal sealing. As frustrating as these holds ups
can be, they offer an upside- more time to negotiate creating a very
Libran win/win situation. The opposite sign of Libra is 'get what I
want' Aries- Libra is no different, she knows how to sugar coat the
situation, still gets her needs met just in a less direct approach.
Relationships come under focus too in the sign of Libra and again,
balance between the you/me/us in relationships is under the spotlight.
These hiccups will ease 14th October.
Venus
as now shifted into 'darker' territory via the sign of Scorpio, where
traditionally she is said to be in her detriment. Due to the fixed
nature of Scorpio, compromise and reason become increasingly difficult
to establish as a certain 'me first' undercurrent prevails due Mars
influence.
"If you can't say, 'I'll die if I don't do it, then
do it" Madonna was once quoted as saying. Not having her Venus in
Scorpio (it is in Leo) still, kind of sums up the do or die approach
whenever a planet is touched by the scorpion. Fight for what you
value/want now.
The
Moon will be in Leo for the next 36 hours where she will meet the South
Node. Issues arise from the past and a little att-i-tude from
you
will put a lid what has been, allowing you to move forward. Unleash
your inner diva and dare to be the center of the universe!

September 2008- Moon in Aries
This
morning I took my beloved German Shepherd, Delta, for her daily walk/
run in the park. She is still only 10 months old and like most canines
from time to time- she will do what she wants rather
than what I want.
She is a Scorpio with a Taurus Moon and Cancer ascendant- so she is
very attached to her home and her 'pack.' However, this morning she was
a little more boisterous and independent that usual. Sniffing every
post, pulling on her lead and reluctantly following commands unless I
had a piece of cheese in my hand. I looked down at my watch as the cool
southerly breeze was increasing in strength, blowing my hair across my
face. It was just approaching 7:30am here in Sydney while the Moon was
about to slip into Aries- no wonder Delta was attempting to be top dog!
Right
now in the heavens there are three planets in 'us' focused Libra-
Mercury, Venus and Mars. Libra represents the part in of each of us
that brings things/people together (Venus) and keeps relations smooth
and diplomatic (Libra,) will be given a shake up over the next 48hrs as
the Moon in Aries gives a helping hand to poor Mars- who has little
strength to do anything but go with the flow or go against the grain-
to their detriment. (Literally according to Ptloemy's Table of
Essential Dignities.)
However,
the Moon has now offered Mars a helping hand- although the
predominating celestial agenda is still about harmony, tact and
avoiding rocking the boat- the Moon in Aries offers an outlet to
embrace the headstrong
'my way' rather than 'our
way.' How can you go forth independently now, without
ruffling too many feathers?

September
I
have barely moved from my desk today as I've been busy chugging away at
the words meeting deadlines for horsoscpes. Amongst the flurry of ideas
escaping my fingertips I have dealt with an influx electronic
communication around me including emails, phone calls, SMS messages- I
even had a Telstra guy come and install a second phone line at my
house. So why all this franctic activity involving communication? The
Moon moved into air sign Aquarius a couple hours ago (5.24pm Sydney
time). Original ideas and new inventive ways of doing things are on the
cosmic agenda for the next 48hrs. Thinking minds move into overdrive as
the buzz of possibility feels absolutely electric! Relationships will
require some attention too as the Moon makes a supportive link to
Venus, Mars and Mercury. Chewing the fat together about future plans
will keep the lines of communication open and energy supportive.

Baggage
Be Gone!
The
Moon is about to slide
up next to a newly direct Jupiter (both in Capricorn) as I write.
Jupiter has been
testing how badly you want a certain something since May, making
potential opportunities and advancement difficult to attain. The Sun
and Saturn are still within a
stones throw of each other in Virgo. All this Earth energy in the
heavens requires solid, steady pace over the next day or so. This
growth tempered by groundedness as suggested by the Jupiter/Saturn link
reminds me of one of the key phrases used to describe Capricorn- I use.
Which resources can you tap into now and what 'baggage' can you do away
with to assist you in moving forward?
A
Venus/Jupiter link tomorrow will feel like the handbrake has been truly
taken off the area of your life governed by Capricorn. If you are not
sure where that is try looking it up at www.astro.com
MOON AND MARS

Young
Astrologers Association (YAA) is meeting this Tuesday night at 7pm at
the Earth Institute- "The Purple Room" Suite 1/20 Clarke St, Crows
Nest. If you would like to attend, please RSVP me on 0405 125 266 or
shoot me an email. This is our first meeting back at our old home so
members new and old are welcome.
The
eclipses for 2008 are over. What did they hold for you? An open forum
on eclipses sharing stories and experiences is on the agenda for
tomorrow night. Beginning with a guided tour of the anatomy of an
eclipse and what it means in a birth chart.
I
look forward to seeing you!
Want

alongside my colleague Damian Rocks due to my astro gal
pal
Kelly finding new horizons
overseas. Course details.

The
definition of the word 'eclipse' is to dim, darken conceal or hide- to
make something invisible by the elimination of light. The weekends
lunar eclipse fell in my own 9th house in my birth chart. My ability to
share my inspired astrological insights at a global level was
diminished, hence the less frequent posts. What area of you birth chart
were the lights proverbially turned out?
The
Moon drifts slowly toward dreamy Neptune today making it easier to
stray from the ever increasing 'to do' list. This whistful, nebulous
and day-dreaming vibe will make coping with the demands of a Monday
morning (here in Australia) even more difficult than usual.
As
Mars enjoys his last day of his once in year two year sojourn through
practical and precise Virgo, you will have that little extra oomph
required to dig deep and soldier on. If you can get something completed
today- then do it while the astro energy conspires with you.
Tomorrow
fiery, dynamic and headstrong Mars enters cool, diplomatic and 'what
would you prefer to do' Libra. Your ability to stay focused on your
goals diminishes as you consider all the options around you, ask
someone else for their opinion and then procrastinate some more. Social
commitments hold more importance than work-related responsibilities.
Energy is directed toward relationships of all kinds.
With
three planets and the Sun soon to enter Virgo all is not lost when it
comes to streamlining your life, culling objects or situations from
your life that have gone past their expiry date, all will still occur,
just at a slower pace. Mars is not happy placed in Libra- Libra likes
to contemplate and ponder to the point of procrastination, Mars likes
to act now, think later. As someone I knew a long time ago once told
me, 'I'm a Libran- I like to weigh things up and take the easy way
out.' Where would you like a little more ease in your life
now?

New
Moon Eclipse tonight at 8:21pm AEST 9 degrees Leo - Solar Eclipse
Tears and Tantrums
Eclipses are those unpredictable jokers in the celestial deck of
cards- that elusive enigma that often baffles astrologers. One thing is
for certain with this one however is that this is an internal battle.
As the solar energy of the Sun in Leo (in dignity by rulership) is
eclipsed by the Moon (from earths view) inner feelings, emotions and
demons come to the fore. South Node energy also reinforces themes from
the past as well as your inner sphere. Recurring patterns that don't
serve you and the relationships you have can now be reflected upon and
the chance to move forward with a positive sense of renewal is now up
for the taking!
The Sun in Leo is a natural symbol for power, confidence and
command. In traditional astrology he represents the captain, the boss,
the leader and the king. When the Sun is shadowed your challenge is to
find new ways of finding personal power, realising that it comes from
within yourself rather than enforcing rigid or dogmatic systems upon
yourself or those around you. Knowing that it's your individual effort
that will pave the way for releasing negative patterns or situations
and bring the successes you deserve.
This eclipse reflects the energy of July 1990, many many moons ago!
You may want to revisit the themes of your life around this time to
assist you on what you are dealing with now.
For the next seven
or so hours the Moon continues in emotional Cancer. The lunar light,
though at her darkest in the sky holds all the cards now as she is
strong in this sign. This is an emotionally super sensitive time where
tears (Cancer) and tantrums (Leo) prevail. There is nothing like the
cathartic cleansing of water in the form of tears coupled with a long
shower to reset your emotional buttons! Works for me!
Happy
eclipse!!
My horoscopes are now published here!
